Yes! Southern Shutters has a transferrable limited lifetime warranty. It covers any warping of the components and structural flaws. It also covers the actual installation.

Every wood species that is used in manufacturing has both good and bad qualities. If properly processed, any of them is an excellent choice for new shutters! North American Basswood has met our standards, providing a beautiful finish and excellent durability that satisfies our customers.
Of course! We’ll be happy to use any paint or staining that the customer requests, regardless of its formula or brand. If that information isn’t available, we’ll provide custom matching and give you actual samples for your final approval. We won’t complete any shutters until you’ve seen and approved that sample.
We complete most installation projects in just one day. However, if the order is particularly large, it may require two days. Our installers are actual employees, not subcontractors. This means they’re paid by the hour and not for the job all at once, which means they’ll handle the work properly without rushing to the next project.
It’s simple – we take pride in our reputation for creating superior products! Due to high local demand and the time that’s required to build each shutter with a strong eye for quality, we have a strict limit as to how many we can make in a week or a month. When demand exceeds our weekly or monthly capacity, we start to develop a backlog. The nice part of our system is that we utilize any extra time to make sure your job is done right!
Because we’re local, our professionals have access to the same materials you and your builder have. We can also use the exact same stain or paint that your builder used. We can match the trim that’s already used throughout the house. If you have any problems, our factory is also just outside of Austin in Manor!

We don’t make clear coats or paint. However, our team uses the highest-quality paint products and clear coats available. Shutter maintenance can be handled in the same way as you care for your windowsills – regular dusting (lamb’s wool dusters work very well) and a yearly cleaning with a damp cloth. They’re built to last a lifetime!
We can build panels up to 48 inches in width while guaranteeing the structural stability! However, any shutter that is over 36 inches wide will need to be supported by rubber bumpons (1/8-inch tall rubber feet) made by 3M. Over time, plantation shutters are slowly evolving to be bigger and more open with fewer visual obstructions, and we are doing our best to give clients what they want and ensure that their window treatments last for the long-term.
